She’s a BRICK HOUSE! :)

Happy Clients on Closing Day...Cambridge's Registry of Deeds

Hello Beautiful ButterflyMoms!

Welcome back! Come in. Take a good sip of some cool water to replenish your body and read on to replenish your soul! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh (feel free to take a good clean breath too – that always feels good! It also re-aligns your body AND your energy level….for FREE! ๐Ÿ™‚ YAY!)

I find meaning everywhere in my days lately. Here are some life lessons from today’s adventures as a Realtor!ย  (enter horns….TAH TAH RAH TAH TAH!!!!!) ๐Ÿ˜‰ย So I met with Kelly, a client who is going to be listing her house with the real estate company I founded with my heart, Brick House Realty ;). Kelly and I met several weeks ago to go through the house to see what needed to be done to get it “HGTV ready” to show. For those who don’t have cable, HGTV is Home & Garden Television, a cable channel dedicated to home improvement. Its influence is so wide spread that it has directly affected the real estate market. Now, when buyers are looking for a home, they want it to look NEW even when it’s not.

This house is really wonderful! I would call it a Mother’s dream house because it was specifically designed for the Mom of the house! Everything is functional, practical, elegant and beautiful! The kitchen is perfectly laid out and has one of the coolest microwaves/oven besides a beautiful gas stove/oven. It allows you to cook a chicken in 12 minutes, muffins in 4 minutes….you get the idea! The kitchen is the perfect size and space to be able to have everything at your fingertips. It has craft closets, tons of storage, fabulous yard, and a outdoor “Maine” room that will knock your socks off! The whole thing place is amazing! Homes come alive to me and when I market them I listen to what they have to say. It is a wonderful lesson about being still and sensing the messages around you.

With this house, like with most houses, it’s about decluttering, first and foremost. Since we have been on a de-cluttering bent lately here on the blog I wanted to share information that I hear again and again as a Realtor. People are always MUCH happier when they get rid of the stuff. They cannot remember why they did not make the time because it feels so much better without the clutter.

The other thing is that now Kelly was feeling the same thing almost EVERYONE feels when they do this,” I am doing this for the buyers (who are usually strangers) but why didn’t I just do it for me and my family?” They lament all that time that they wasted living like that when they could have easily changed it. Once clients see the difference many feel that they no longer need to move because their space is now THEIR OWN. They have now connected with it and it feels great! The clutter in our homes or in our lives disconnects us. Disconnection brings sadness and despair. These are signs that you are moving away from your alignment.

Well, the good news is that it’s not too late! Why not do it NOW for YOU to enjoy?! It’s easy and makes you feel good! Play this wonderful game alone, with your family or even get a couple of friends involved! Itโ€™s a great way to create win-win situations!

Go around your house as if you are getting ready to move or sell it. Take a notepad and jot down things that you need to do. Give yourself a MOVE-OUT/IN date. Get out your calendar. Pick what days you will do what room. Take each room and keep what is necessary and get rid of what is not. (Remember to recycle, donate, re-use as much as possible so we keep unnecessary stuff out of landfills!) Remember to have fun! I will promise you that at the end you will feel like you live in a NEW house and you will because you will have totally shifted the energy around you!

If you take the time to pay attention, even your home has something to teach you! I’ve been doing real estate for 10 years and I know that houses have souls or an energy about them. You can walk into THE nicest house in the whole world and feel ‘unsafe’, ‘unhappy’, ‘icky’ in it like it does not fit. You can walk into a house that is falling apart, like they did in ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ and feel completely ‘connected’, ‘safe’, and ‘happy’ as if it belonged to you and you to it! It’s much the same feeling when you find a beloved pet! ๐Ÿ˜‰ย  I’ve seen it hundreds of times. When a house is yours you can feel it regardless of what you say you wanted or needed. Life is very much the same way. We THINK we want something. We KNOW what we are looking for but when it appears in a different form RIGHT under our noses we reject/ignore/can’t see it!

Part of today’s lesson is go with your gutt even when it does not always make sense! Only a VERY small part of this world is about “making sense”! The more you go with you instinct the stronger it will get, the better adventures you have so when you reach your last breath you will have the satisfaction of having lived the time you had to its FULL-EST!

ย Great big hugs,

How I adore that we get to connect in SUCH a magical way! Your energy is incredible and it’s such a part of you that I don’t even know that you see how amazing it is. I see it and I’m honored that you not only read the blog but also participate by commenting. “Audience” feedback, just like in a play, helps the keep the energy (and the “performance”) at a higher level.
