Hello Beautiful ButterflyMoms,

YOGA feeds YOUR SOUL...even if you only do it 3 minutes/day!!

So, how is your life’s journey so far? How are you feeling? Take some deep, deep, deep breaths. How are you REALLY feeling?  BREATH is even more basic and important than even exercising! Yup you read that right. Think about it. When you are FEELING STRESSED if you pay attention to your breath it is usually very short. One way to get back into YOUR zone is to take deep, deep breaths. Just like when you learned how to walk, you were not good at it at first, but then you got the hang of it and now you don’t even remember not walking. Breath is the same way except some of us are only “crawling” with our breaths thinking that is all there is to breathing…..Au contraire, ma chère!!!!  There is a lot more to learn about how your breath, something you do every second of every day can help you connect with your happiness!

Kids are NATURAL Yogis. Do Yoga and it will bring back some of the fluidity of a child's body! IT FEELS SOOOOOOOOOO GOOD!!!

For years a tried to breathe better on my own and nothing worked until I started taking yoga classes. Now, I’m just putting it out there that IN MY EXPERIENCE yoga on the east coast is VERY different from yoga on the west coast (California, for example). On the west coast people tend to NOT have music or students talking during class. It is a time to be quiet and connected with yourself. Carving out a time like that in my week was absolutely GROUNDING and ENERGIZING. On the east coast, where people tend to be more conservative, in general, it is amazing to me that it’s very different, not in EVERY place, but in a lot of places. I would call it THREE-QUARTERS YOGA, almost there but that last piece of quiet and meditation is replaced by  aerobics class mentality. If you have taken yoga and not really connected, explore other places. I used to do mine at an ASHRAM in San Francisco that at first freaked me out because it had pictures of bearded guys in turbans all over the place. Growing up very Catholic this was a warning sign. My fear meter was through the roof but I was with my roommate, at the time, who I totally trusted so I tried it. Somewhere in the class my fear disappeared and amazing beauty and calm replaced it. That was about 15 years ago and it has made a HUGE difference in my life!!!! If you want a bigger SHIFT into your alignment start experimenting with local yoga classes. You get to support a local entrepreneur who is following their path, while getting wonderful benefits for you mind, body and soul! A TOTAL WIN-WIN!!!

PS I ABSOLUTELY LOVE “YOGA DANCE”. It is a GREAT, GREAT, GREAT yoga to take your kids of all ages to and dance around with lots of fun dancing and some occasional yoga moves thrown in. For me it’s more of a fun dancing event but everyone loves it, especially your kids who see YOUR CHILD-SIDE come out and PLAY!!!

    Maria, never heard of Yoga Dance for kids, will look into it. Maybe we can take the girls together one day/night.
