Pray for BostonBeautiful ButterflyMoms,

The last four weeks have been quite INTENSE for me… my beautiful friend Aida (my age) unexpectedly died, the dollar took a huge drop in value so everything here got a lot more expensive, my mom was hospitalized for heart issues (yesterday)… and then, one we are all experiencing, all this “madness” with the Boston Marathon bombings and the incredible drama that is unfolding as authorities “hunt” for the people responsible.

Since I started doing energy work I’m a lot more sensitive and intuitive. Right now, I can FEEL people in Massachusetts SHUTTING DOWN to “protect” themselves. They are in the Land of Should, feeding their anger and sadness from what they are hearing on the news. Some of the things people say when they are feeding their heavy/sad/angry selves are statements like:

Boston - We are one Boston*People are so evil.

*You can’t trust anyone anymore.

*The world is getting crazy.

*What is wrong with people?

*The world is getting worse and worse.

Sound familiar to anyone? Do you ever hear yourself talk like this? I do! It is from all that conditioning from what has been the human status quo for a very long time. Statements like these above bring your vibration down to a denser level of existence. When you feed that low vibration thinking, you not only feel bad, but you attract more icky stuff into your life.

The people of Boston work together so well that when they were asked to stay off the streets they did.

Near Fenway Park

Near Fenway Park – Same thing.

For those who don’t know what I mean, “vibrations” are like “channels”. How wisely you use your energy in each moment determines the quality of your life. A classic example is that if you wake up on the “wrong side of the bed” and don’t shift your “channel”, your day will continue with lots of icky, low energy things happening to you. Some people get so stuck in that pattern that if they are not careful the whole blueprint of their whole life will follow this pattern.

Love and Purpose not fear and woundsWhen an icky event happens, negativity oftentimes becomes the norm. People who already live their lives in low energy levels love it because for that short time a lot more people are in that lower vibration with them. I will give you an example. Very soon after our baby girl Sophia died, Doug and I went to go volunteer in New Orleans to help rebuild. Something happened that I did not expect. It felt absolutely wonderful for me to be there because the energetic level of the city was GRIEF and so was mine! I really felt like I fit in because most of New Orleans, because of what they had lost was on the same energetic vibration as I was on. It helped me notice it and heal a lot faster because I was not fighting it, plus we were working together to rebuild the city so we were on many levels helping each other to move forward.

When those bombs went off at the Boston Marathon on Patriot’s Day, the goal by the people who thought of this and set it up was to hurt others. So, their INTENTION WAS PAIN. In the past that might have been the case but what has happened in resent years has been that the American psyche has shifted a bit. I believe it started with 911. We realized that we can no longer just stand there and let others solve what is before us. An example is that when I was a kid and you heard of a plane getting hi-jacked no one fought the hi-jackers. They just waited for the demands to be met and then then be released. After 911 that all shifted. The rules were no longer the same. We got that it is in our hands and that what we do for others is paramount. The fact that people who finished the marathon, upon hearing what happened ran another 2 miles to General Hospital to donate blood is part of that incredible new collective though process.

Boston BatmanI don’t know about you, but hearing that makes me be a better person. The act of one person like that raises the water level for ALL our ships. I could not have been prouder of all the people whose collective love and dedication to total strangers turned this horrific PAIN BOMB, into a LOVE BOMB that is still reverberating all over the world… even the NEW YORK YANKEES are sending their love to Boston! WOW! Who would have thunk it?!

Times like these break us apart, or, bring us together. We, in the Boston area, never knew how close we were to each other, how much we love our city or how much others love us… until this happened.

We finish the race.Every situation, big or small, has both gifts and curses. EVERY SITUATION… Having kids, buying a house, being in a relationship, running… EVERY THING has a good and a bad…  What matters is what you are focusing on. The quality of your life is completely shaped by how you see the world. So in the midst of all this life “stuff” that keeps coming at us, check in and notice if you are noticing the curse or the gift.

Great big hugs,

Holding space today. Sending love and light to those in need…

the ones who have passed, the ones left behind, the ones who protect, the ones who are acting out. Remembering that it is not more rage and more killing that will bring us peace. Remembering that it is LOVE that ultimately heals all wounds. ♥ –Erica Silvestri, Massachusetts

Gandhi on humanityThe following poem is gift from WOMEN AS VISIONARIES founder, Lore Raymond, from Saint Petersburg, Florida.
“Dedicating this to our ONE FAMILY in Boston ♥” Lore, Florida

sunshine of my heart,
in reverence-
for today.
I am alive another day.
rays of light,
beaming upon me-
yesterday, I now let go,
today’s promise-
touches my morning,
with warm light-
spilling over me,
letting me see-
the gratitude of living.
no wrongs,
no rights,
darkness pierced by light.
sunshine of my heart,
let my day now start-
walking in the light of your presence.

The words you speak become your house.WHAT IS BUTTERFLYMOMS?
ButterflyMoms is a community of people who realize they are souls first and human being second. They want to explore more about themselves, to find out what makes them happy and how they can lead a life of purpose. It is simply about FEEDING YOUR SOUL. Although it has the name “MOMS” in the title it is more about being nurturing to your own transformation, as the butterfly is to its own metamorphosis. This community is led by Maria Salomão-Schmidt whose transformation was ignited by the birth and death of her BELOVED thirteen month old daughter Sophia (Sophalicious), the original butterfly.

*Every Friday Morning, as a way of honoring her daughter Sophia’s soul, Maria writes the weekly BUTTERFLYMOMS BLOG. Hundreds of people read it every week to feed their souls. Maria started writing the blog in May 2009 and has written EVERY Friday since. Maria is a Reiki master and every time you read it you are showered with healing love.  Tell your friends… and spread the love!!! FEED YOUR SOUL!!!!!

**About Joseph Addison- English politician and writer Joseph Addison is remembered as a cofounder, along with his friend Richard Steele, of The Spectator, one of the first magazines to cover literature and manners. He was born on May 1, 1672 in Wiltshire. He spent four years traveling in Europe, studying politics and writing poetry, and became a Commissioner of Appeals on his return to England. His shyness made public office difficult. His most famous work is the play Cato, a tragedy about ancient Rome. He died on June 17, 1719.

  1. As always, you are spot on. very well written. My heart goes out to all the victims and their families who are dealing with this terrible tragedy.

  2. Thanks for always commenting! I love that you give me that gift every week!

    Great big hugs,

  3. It was a honor for you to share my poem “sunshine of my heart” posted on Women as Visonaries with Lore Raymond. I also saw a Heart’s Calling photo with a piece of my poem on it, “my aching turns to finding grace” as well. I am the Visionary Poet contributor on Lore’s page and poet and page own of Heart’s Calling. Your piece touched my heart and how our humankindness and light can shine through our suffering.

    • Hello Beautiful Rei Alberto,

Thank you for sharing from your heart. It is rare to see big, burly men doing that! Love and speaking authentically is one of the most beautiful qualities any human being can possess, especially men!

      Great big hugs,

  5. Thank you, Beautiful Maria, for your soulful insight. You hit the nail on the head! I too, have found that despite the many blessings surrounding me, the events of the past couple of weeks have consumed me in a way that I never expected. This, in turn, has affected every other facet of my life, and that of my family. It is as if a heavy black cloud has been hanging over our home, and even though we are so grateful for what we have, and that we are all safe. I struggle to find a way to come out of this. I find myself telling my children that they are safe and protected, that the bad guys have been caught, yet it is hard to convince myself. My husband works in Boston, and has gone into Copley every day this week. I am grateful for his safety, yet we argue, or just don’t speak because the tension is so high. How do we overcome this and keep appreciating what is truly important? Thank you for taking the time to say what we all feel?
